Abstract

D. Scott Bennett is currently associate professor of political science at Penn State, where he specializes in international conflict, and specifically how military adversaries transform long periods of conflict into periods of peaceful relations. Ongoing projects concern interstate alliances and the comparative testing of theories of international conflict initiation and escalation. He is the author of The Behavioral Origins of War (2003), as well as numerous articles in journals as diverse as the Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, and the American Journal of Political Science.
