Abstract

The polarizations of the vibronic transitions of benzyl and several methylbenzyl radicals have been determined by the method of 3-photon photoselection. This method, the results, and the state assignments will be discussed. This work has been supported in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Philip M. Johnson is a Gulf Oil Predoctoral Fellow.
