Abstract

Vibrational predissociation spectra of the $d_{4}$ isotopomer of methanol dimer has been recorded in the $10.6 \mu$ region. Using the beam depletion method, we have observed a vibrational transition at $974.6 cm^{-1}$ for $(CD_{3}OD)_{2}$ with a Lorentzian linewidth of $2.75 cm^{-1}$. This transition is red shifted from the corresponding monomer by $\sim 9 cm^{-1}$, which was also observed for the corresponding proton or deuteron acceptor peaks for $(CH_{3}OH)_{2}$ and $(CH_{3}OD)_{2}$. Spectra of the $(CD_{3}OD)(CH_{3}OD)$ dimer will also be discussed.
