Abstract

A photofragment spectrum of $N_{2}O{^{+}}$ following laser excitation of a fast ion beam has been obtained in the near ultraviolet region. We report preliminary rovibrational identifications is good agreement with previous emission spectrum analysis of the A $^{2}\Sigma^{+} - X\ ^{2}\pi$ transition. Signals are shown to arise from the photopredissociation of vibrationally excited levels of the A $^{2}\Sigma^{+}$ state. Our results provide direct evidence of the fact that the continuum which is responsible for the predissociation is not optically corrected with the ground state on $N_{2}O{^{+}}$.
