Abstract

The infrared emission spectrum of HC1 excited by an electric discharge has been measured in the frequency region 450cm−1 to 750cm−1. Rotational transitions of the ground and first excited vibrational states to J=40 are observed. The measurements permit calculation of the spectroscopic constant H.
