Abstract

The high resolution, rotationally resolved laser induced fluorescence spectra for the A~2A1X~2E transition of CF3O and CF3S were recorded. The A~ electronic state symmetric vibrational bands 000 and 301 and the symmetric bands 501 and 601 were analyzed for CF3O, while for CF3S the symmetric bands 000,101,201 and 301. As well as the asymmetric bands 601,301501, and 301601 were analyzed. The results of the analysis show that the ground states of both CF3O and CF3S have C3v symmetry which is consistent with a dynamic Jahn-Teller effect in these radicals. In the asyymetric 501 band of CF3O, both perpendicular and parallel type transitions were observed while for the other asymmetric bands only perpendicular type transitions were observed. The molecular parameters and the details of the analysis of all these bands will be presented.
