Abstract

The history of 19th and early 20th C. stoneware potteries in Manchester, Adams Co., Ohio, is described and examples of marked ware are illustrated. Of particular importance were the firms operated by Archibald Means, John Parkes and Barney Chamberlain, Bates, Sibley & Co., and Andrew J. Weaver.
