Abstract

Rotationally resolved, laser-induced fluorescence spectra of RgSH complexes have been recorded for the first time. These complexes were produced by the photolysis of a mixture of 1% H2S in He with a small amount of the appropriate inert gas. The molecule was jet cooled and probed with a pulse amplified cw ring dye laser with a resolution of 300MHz in the UV. We observe both fine and hyperfine structure in ArSH analogous to ArSH. We have also confirmed that previously unidentified bands of ArSH1 are in fact combination bands of both the van der Waals stretch and bend. Spectra of all previously observed pure van der Waals stretch bands of ArSH have now been recorded and we will discuss the analysis of these bands. Presently work is also in progress on the ArSH and the KrSH complexes.
