Abstract

The 0-1, 0-2 and 2-3 bands of the A1\P−X1Σ+ system of germanium monoxide have been recorded at high resolution and analyzed. The rotational constants obtained for the ground state agree well with microwave date and those for the excited state are an improvement of the previous results. On the basis of investigations of intensity distribution in the GeO spectrum a perturbation between the b3\P(v−=8) and A1\P(v=0) states was concluded.1 In the present study of the rotational structure of the 0-1 and 0-2 bands the points of maximum perturbation have been observed for 74GeO at Q(37) - G(39), P(41) and R(39). The perturbation of the A1\P state is discussed.
