Abstract

We report on the self-broadening widths for the EPR transitions of molecular oxygen which occur at X-band resonance fields below 0.7T and which have sufficient intensity to permit line width measurements. These measurements have been made with sufficient resolution and comprehensiveness to display the M- as well as the N-dependence of the Linewidth The line widths have very little M dependence, and the N dependence is quite similar to the dependence of Raman and millimeter region line widths on N. From these results we infer that pure reorienting collisions have very little influence on oxygen self-broadening line shapes.
