Abstract

Rotational spectra of ArH+ and ArD+ were measured in a magnetically confined plasma with a tunable far-infrared laser. By separating the ΔMJ=±1 components with a quarter wave plate, the rotational g-factors were determined. Combining this data with that available from microwave1 and infrared spectroscopy2,3 we can evaluate the Born-Oppenheimer equilibrium internuclear separation.
