My STEP project was an education abroad to London, England. While there, I took a class about the history, politics, and culture of Great Britain. Our class went on excursions that were related to the topics discussed or read from class. I believe that I grew in so many ways because of my STEP study abroad. I became confident in myself in knowing how to navigate—I was able to travel by tube, train, and plane in multiple countries (even without English). I learned a lot about differences between the US and Great Britain in terms of the differences in health care policies, the education systems, social policies, general politics, and more. The biggest tools that I have gained from this experience was that it has taught me how to use my resources to take care of myself and it has given me the confidence and motivation to try new experiences.
