Abstract
Power Algebra is a PowerPoint-based Algebra curriculum developed by a teacher from the Akron Public
Schools in Akron, Ohio. Akron is a large, urban district (the fourth largest city and district in Ohio) and possesses
student characteristics similar to many other urban districts especially in terms of the number of
students with learning disabilities and the challenges meeting proficient standardized test scores.
