Abstract

An electronic emission spectrum of the ytterbium molecule, excited in high temperature furnace, has been photographed in the $450 - 590 nm$ region at a reciprocal linear dispersion of 0.73 nm. A large number of new bands have been recorded along with the reported bands. The observed bands have been classified into two system viz. A-X and B-X. The modified vibrational constants have been determined for the relevant states.
