Abstract

By introducing HCl into one arm of a Michelson Interferometer, its dispersion can be measured. By Fourier transform techniques, such information is obtained for the far infrared pure rotational band. Combining this information with absorption data results in better line strength and line width determinations than would otherwise be possible. This work was done in part under a contract between The Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories and The Ohio State University Research Foundation.
