Abstract

Single crystals of K2Mn(CN)3NO and K2Fe(CN)5NO−H2O containing small amounts of K3Cr(CN)5NO and K2Mn(CN)5NO, respectively, have been studied by paramagnetic resonance. The spectroscopic splitting factors have been obtained, and also the hyperfine coupling tensors to the central metal ion, to the nitrosyl nitrogen and to C13 in the cyanide groups. The values of these parameters will be discussed in terms of the bonding in these compounds.
