Knowledge Bank

The singlet-triplet absorption of a neat oriented crystal of p-chloroaniline has been observed at $4.2\circ K$. The factor group splitting of the two allowed components of the 0-0 band at $3761\backslash AA$ was found to be $\sim 2$ $cm-1$. The high and low field Zeeman spectra have been investigated to determine the active spin states and the zero-field parameters.
