This is the minutes for the Council on Academic Affairs' meeting on May 7, 2008. E. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith (the Chair and Vice Chair, respectively) gave comments regarding relevant updates. Professor Lora G. Dobos presented the proposal for a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning degree program. Professors Kenneth Pearlman, Jean-Michel Guldmass, Burkhard von Ravinau, and Dr. Ed McCaul discussed the proposal with the Council. Professor Sheryl Barringer presented the proposal to establish the Master of Business Operational Excellence degree program. Professors Steve Manum and Peter Ward discussed with the Council. E. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith led the discussion on the proposals for a Graduation with Honors Research Distinction, to require C- or better for Nutrition and Human Nutrition majors, and to establish an Interdisciplinary minor in Critical Cultural Theory. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith led the continued discussion of undergraduate minors, where the comparison table of minors was discussed and Dutta agreed to revise.
