Abstract
The time-resolved fluorescence technique provides a powerful tool for studying the dynamic processes involved in excimer and exciplex interactions. In this study we have employed this technique to investigate the kinetics of the association and dissociation processes of an intramolecular excimer, 1, 3-bis(alpha-naphthyl)propane, The effect of macroscopic solvent viscosity on the excimer kinetics was investigated. The radiative lifetime of the intramolecular excimer was determined, and its value will be discussed in terms of the excimer geometry.
