Knowledge Bank

Equivalent width measurements have been made on a number of individual rotational lines in the B-X system of $I2$. The resulting line intensities, together with computed RKR Franck-Condon factors, have been used to obtain the total Einstein transition probability $\Sigma v\ast Av\prime v\prime \prime =1/\tau v1$. These results will be compared with existing measurements of the direct decay by the phase-shift and pulsed excitation method.
