Abstract

The infrared spectrum of gaseous CF2:CHBr has been obtained with a Perkin-Elmer double-pass spectrometer equipped with LiF, NaCl and CsBr prisms and a 1-m absorption cell. The Raman spectra of the compound in the gaseous and liquid states have been photographed with a 3-prism glass spectrograph of linear dispersion 15A/mm at 4358A. The 12 fundamental vibration frequencies have been assigned, and the spectra have been interpreted in detail. Thermodynamic functions have been calculated for the compound in the ideal gas state at a number of temperatures above the boiling point.
