Abstract

The high resolution spectra of the linear HCN-HCCCCH, HCCCN-HCCH complexes have been studied using the optothermal technique. The structures of these complexes have been characterized. The predissociation lifetimes of the ν=1 state of the hydrogen bonded C-H stretches have also been determined. The properties of these complexes, along with the previous studied HCN-HCCH, are compared in detail. The differences of the intermolecular forces among these systems are also discussed.
