Abstract
Single and multiple oscillating fields are used in a molecular beam electric resonance apparatus for the radio frequency and audio frequency spectroscopy of some of the heavier alkali halides. The multiple resonance method permits the observation of transitions between sub-levels of a quadrupole hfs level, and it also permits measurements of many transitions which do not satisfy the usual observability criteria. The information from these additional spectral lines has proved to be most useful in the interpretation of high resolution spectra.
