Abstract
This work is an example of a study of line-by-line intensities in a polyad. Such polyads are more and more frequently found for high energies. Analyses of the intensities in these polyads are difficult. Fortunately, it is usually possible to find lines which belong mainly to subsets of the polyad or even almost only to one hand, so that it is easier to derive intensity parameters. Five hands of ethylene in the 3 microns region have been analyzed by this method. The line-intensities have been measured with a frequency-difference laser spectrometer. A total of 148 selected data have been fitted and 4 parameters have been found to be significant. They allow to reproduce the observed intensities within 1%.
