Abstract
“Infrared techniques for studying cyclotron resonance and Faraday rotation in III-V compounds such as InSb, InAs, and InP will be discussed. The cyclotron resonance experiments are performed at far infrared frequencies using prism, grating, and reststrahlen monochromators. Where feasible circularly polarized light is used to determine the sign of the absorbing charge carriers. Magnetic fields as high as 75 kilogauss, obtained with the NRL Bitter magnet, are used.
