Abstract
The effects of a heavy atom on the phosphorescence rate constants of some cyclic ketones were studied in several host single crystals. Included in this study were cyclohexanone and cyclohexanedione in crystals of p-dichlorobenzene and p-dibromobenzene. The trends in the phosphorescence rate constants and zero field splittings of the triplet state as a function of halogenated hosts will be discussed.
