Abstract

Dibenzoselenophene molecules crystallize in pairs with planes of the paired molecules almost parallel. Because the molecules are only about 3.5 A apart, there was a possibility that crystal transitions due to charge transfer between the molecules might appear. The polarized reflection spectra of these crystals show no evidence of transitions which are not single molecule transitions.
