Abstract

The 950-980 Angstrom absorption profiles of the XN2k(b1IIu)(v=3,4,5) and p11Σu+ bands in N2 have been measured at pressure-path length 10-1000 times lower than previous measurements. The oscillator strengths determined, extrapolated to zero pressure, confirm the relative intensities of the electron collision spectra of Meyer, Skerbele, and Lassettre.1 Experimental oscillator strengths will be given and the dependence of apparent f-values correlated with the diffuseness of the levels. Supported by NASA grant NsG-414.
