Abstract

Codeposition of Ar/SO2 (ca. 1000/1) mixtures with alkali halide vapors under matrix isolation conditions produces several reaction products. Infrared and ultraviolet spectra of the matrix isolated species will be presented. The structures of the reaction products and the role of both anions and cations will be discussed.
