Abstract

Vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra in the 1600-700 cm−1 region will be reported for the title compounds. The spectra were obtained for CCl4 and CS2 solutions. Ab initio localized molecular orbital (LMO) predictions of VCD for methyl lactate, obtained with the 6−31G∗ basis set, will also be presented. There is a remarkable agreement between the observed and predicted VCD spectra.
