Abstract

The rotational constants of two isotopic species of methyl monofluorosilane, as determined from microwave data, have been used to calculate its structure. Quantitative Stark effect data has been obtained and used to calculate the dipole moment. Certain absorption lines in the microwave spectrum were found to be split into doublets. These splittings are due to internal rotation and have been used to determine the barrier to internal rotation. This barrier was found to be. 1450 cal. + 50 cal.
