Abstract
We have examined the region from $30,080 cm^{-1}$ to $31,270 cm^{-1}$ and discovered that the D $^{2}\Sigma$ state observed by $Fowler^{1}$ is actually v=1 of the $C^{\prime}$ $^{2}\Sigma$ $state^{2}$ which is consistent with theoretical $calculations^{3,4}$. With this new information, we have rearranged the CaF Rydberg series described by Murphy $et. al.^{5}$. The $C^{\prime}$ state is now assigned as the second member of the āsā $\Sigma$ series. We also examined the region from $34,500 cm^{-1}$ to $37,500 cm^{-1}$ and found a new $^{2}\Sigma$ state at $n^{*}=3.176$ which has been assigned as the first member of the āpā $\Sigma$ series.
