Abstract

Field experiments using an IDAC Model 1000 Fourier transform interferometer-spectrometer (FTS) system in conjunction with a 120 cm diameter collector telescope have yielded $0,08 cm^{-1}$ resolution infrared absorption spectra throughout the atmospheric window between 1900 $cm^{-1}$ and 3200 $cm^{-1}$. Results from measurements performed under a wide variety of meteorological conditions along five kilometer, sea-level propagation paths in both Maryland and Florida indicate a path-integrated $HDO/H_{2}O$ relative abundance ratio that is 50% lower than earlier estimates.
