Abstract

Laser Spectra of Ethylene in the 10 micron region have been recorded at the University of Lille with waveguide $CO_{2}$ and $N_{2}O$ lasers. Forty six absorption lines have been measured with an accuracy better than $0.001\;cm^{-1}$. Eleven lines, the more intense ones, have been attributed to the $\nu_{7}$ band. The intensities of the other Lines correspond to the expected order of magnitude for the ``hot” hands from $\nu_{10}, \nu_{8}, \nu_{7}, \nu_{4}\ldots$ and for the $\nu_{7}$ band of $H_{2}{^{12}}C^{13}CH_{2}$. The diode laser spectrum of $ethylene^{1}$ has been precisely calibrated. Using the classical spectra by D. L. $Johansen^{2}$ the waveguide lasers spectra and the diode laser spectrum, we performed a complete rovibrational analysis of the $\nu_{7},\;\nu_{4}$ and $\nu_{10}$ bands of ethylene. Two first order and two second order Coriolis resonances are introduced to reproduce the experimental data.
