Abstract

Laser Spectra of Ethylene in the 10 micron region have been recorded at the University of Lille with waveguide CO2 and N2O lasers. Forty six absorption lines have been measured with an accuracy better than 0.001cm−1. Eleven lines, the more intense ones, have been attributed to the ν7 band. The intensities of the other Lines correspond to the expected order of magnitude for the ``hot” hands from ν10,ν8,ν7,ν4 and for the ν7 band of H212C13CH2. The diode laser spectrum of ethylene1 has been precisely calibrated. Using the classical spectra by D. L. Johansen2 the waveguide lasers spectra and the diode laser spectrum, we performed a complete rovibrational analysis of the ν7,ν4 and ν10 bands of ethylene. Two first order and two second order Coriolis resonances are introduced to reproduce the experimental data.
