Abstract

A survey of recent magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) studies on a variety of transition metal ions will be presented. Emphasis will be placed on cases where the MCD clarifies or distinguishes among conflicting spectral assignments. Some examples of spectacular enhancements of spin-forbidden transitions in MCD will be shown.
