Knowledge Bank

The rotational spectrum of BrO has been observed in selected regions up to 400 GHz using a free radical submillimeter spectrometer which has recently been assembled. The spectrum of the $\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">2</mrow>}\Pi 3/2$ state has several clearly resolved transitions for both isotopic species which allow for the determination of $eQq2$ and $Beff$. A revised and expanded set of molecular parameters will be presented for BrO and the spectrometer will be briefly described.
