Abstract

The 26.5 to 40 GHz rotational spectrum of cyclohexene oxide has been studied. The rotational constants for the ground vibrational state are (in MHz) $A = 3872.05$, $B = 3157.37$ and $C = 2110.89 (K = 0.18844)$. The dipole moment components have been determined to be (in D) $\mu_{a} = 1.15 \ \pm\ 0.01$, $\mu_{b} = 0.18 \pm 0.08$, $\mu_{c} = 1.52 \pm 0.01$ and $\mu = 1.91 \pm 0.01$. For a number of transitions a pair of strong vibrational satellites close to the ground state line has been observed. These satellites are probably due to either bending about the $C_{3}C_{6}$ direction or a twisting motion involving $C_{4}$ and $C_{5}$. This work supported by Grant C-071 of the Robert A.
