Abstract

The highly accurate $B_{0}$ value for $C_{5}H_{6}$ found in a molecular-beam $CO_{2}$-Laser microwave-sideband study of the 1038 $cm^{-1}$ $\nu_{1}$, perpendicular band (above paper) is inconsistent with a previous Doppler-Limited difference-frequency-laser spectrum of the 3048 $cm^{-1}$ $\nu_{13}$ band [J. Pliva and A.S. Pine, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 93, 209 (1982)]. Therefore we have recorded the molecular-beam optothernal spectrum of $\nu_{12}$ excited by a linear-scan-controlled color-center laser drift stabilized by reference to a dual-wavelength polarization-stabilized He/Ne laser. The low affective beam temprature (-8 K) completnly eliminates spectral congestion, and the sub-Doppler instrumental linewidth (-15 MHz) permics resolution of essentially every transition. Revised assignments and new spectral constants will be reported.
