Abstract

A systematic study of the intensity of far-infrared, pure rotational laser emission of the molecules OH (v≤4,2π1/2), OD (v≤2,2π1/2) and NH(3Σ) Will be presented. The free radicals are prepared by The reactions, respectively, O(1D)+H2,O(1D)+D2 and NH3+hν in a large excess of rare gas. The relative importance of possible pumping mechanisms such as $V \rightarrow $R and RR transfer will be discussed, as well as the observed effects of varying the initial concentrations of the reactants.
