Abstract

The infrared spectra of C3H8,C3D8(CH3)2CD2,(CO3)CH3 and CH3CH2CD3 have been obtained over a spectral region extending from 10,000cm−1 to 250cm−1. These spectra were analyzed and it was possible to assign 121 of the 135 fundamentals in these five molecules. Normal coordinate analyses were carried out and a fairly simple potential function was computed that reproduced the estimated harmonic frequencies with an error of less than 1%.
