Abstract
The functions sin x/x and (sin x/x)2 have been used for computing gravity anomalies at higher elevations, starting from given values of surface gravity anomalies. These represent two different interpolation methods for evaluating gravity anomalies between given values. Also a linear interpolation method has been tried. Gravity anomaly distributions at an elevation of 46.7 km above the profile No. 17 of Vening Meinesz across the East Indies as deduced by the three methods agree within several milligals.
