Abstract
Absorption, fluorescence, and excitation spectra of ethano-and cyclopropano-bridged (14) annulenes, I and II, have been obtained in nitrogen matrices at $14^{\circ} K$ . Observation of single sites allows vibrational analysis in both the excited and grund electronic states and sheds light on the origin of a previous unassigned absorption feature approximately $3300 cm^{-1}$ above the 0-0 band of the first electronic transition.
