Abstract

At low temperatures nitric oxide forms colored complexes (absorption maxima ∼500 nm) with various Lewis acids. The infrared and Raman spectra of these complexes have been recorded between 10 and 150∘K . At higher temperatures these species decompose. The spectra for nitric oxide complexes with$ BF_{3}, BCl_{3}, SnCl_{4}, TiCl_{4}, HCl,$ and SO2 will be discussed.
