Abstract

Pure rotational lasing patterns in NH and HF are investigated as functions of various rare gas collision partners and flash photolysis initiation reactions. A computer simulation model incorporating $R \rightarrow R$ and impulsive to adiabatic $V \rightarrow R$ energy transfer mechanisms details the relaxation history of the nascent particles and explains most of the lasing patterns observed experimentally.
