Abstract

This research takes a thematic approach to analyzing gender stereotypes in a feminist literature data set, and seeks to demonstrate how traditional female roles in literature are challenged or upheld. This analysis also postulates how literature is important to the development of society’s gender norms, societal morality, and argues that cultural gender norms can be created and maintained through storytelling.
