Abstract

Janet Ashe describes her experience as Vice President for Business and Administration at The Ohio State University. In this position, she oversaw all the operational areas of OSU, including the Physical Plant, Business Operations, Fisher College of Business, the Ohio Stadium, the Office of Internal Audit, the Office of Property and Real Estate management, University Public Safety, and many others. Ashe discusses her efforts to increase diversity in University Administration while at Ohio State, and her participation in the women’s grassroots movement, a precursor to The Women’s Place. She was instrumental in establishing the first office on campus for The Women’s Place. After leaving Ohio State, Ashe became the first female Vice President for Finance of American Motors Corporation.
