Abstract

The complete infrared, far-infrared, and Raman spectra of 3-cyclopentene-1-one, 2-cyclopenten-1-one, and 2-cyclopenten-1-one-5, 5-d2 have been recorded and analyzed. Several far-infrared transitions arising from the ring-puckering vibration were observed for each molecule. These data indicate that each of these ring systems has a planar structure.
