A vertical landscape with a single mountain above the foreground valley [CMA 2001.0345.195]. First-state proofs are solely linear, prior to second-state impressions [CMA 2001.034.196] with subtle aquatint texture. Both this print and the smaller format Colorado [CMA 2001.034.194] are based on drawings of the Rocky Mountains done during the summer of 1970, when Chafetz was a visiting artist at the University of Denver.
