Abstract

Science Applications, Inc. is currently rebuilding a far infrared grating spectrometer. It has a nominal focal length of one meter, can accept gratings over 50 cm. wide mounted in a Littrow configuration, and has been used in the past to record spectra from about 15cm−1 to 450cm−1. Unique features of this instrument will be discussed as well as an evaluation of its expected performance using currently available detectors and double pass optics. Representative spectra will be shown.
