Abstract

From a high resolution spectrum of the rQ0 branch in the ν9 fundamental of ethane, we confirm directly the -doubling parameter determined previously from a contour analysis.1 We also determine the splitting of the torsional sublevels form a band contour analysis and find a J(J+1) dependence for this splitting.
